Is your weight loss a cold case? Has your interest in weight loss gone cold?You’ve probably never asked yourself, “Is your weight loss a cold case” have you? I bet not! But you probably have said you can’t get motivated to lose weight and you just can’t stop eating no matter what you’ve tried.

But what do either of these common weight loss problems have to do with your weight loss being a cold case? Well it depends on how you look at it. It also depends on if you follow me on how I came up with this topic today.

The Inspiration for “Is Your Weight Loss a Cold Case”

At the time of this podcast recording it was two weeks ago that four University of Idaho students were murdered in their off-campus rental home in Moscow Idaho while sleeping. This murder case has captured the attention of the nation as well as many around the world. These were four bright, happy young people whose lives were cut short and everyone is anxious for answers.

This is where my idea of asking is your weight loss a cold case came into being. There are two parts to this: Impatience, and the actual definition of what a cold case is.

On the topic of impatience, there are large groups of people on the Internet who have no connection at all to this case (they are not family, friends or community members) who are demanding a resolution to this complicated case after only two weeks. Why? Just because they want it.

They want this case solved immediately to soothe their own personal anxiety. Note again that these are not family members, friends and they don’t live in Moscow Idaho but instead are halfway across the world and just simply demand that this case be solved instantly. I’ve even read posts online saying that they want someone, anyone to be arrested just to have someone arrested so that this case will be completed, which is the craziest thing ever since you can’t arrest people who aren’t even involved in any way in the crime. But they want this just to soothe their own anxiety about this case.

What does this have to do with weight loss?

What does this have to do with weight loss and how does it tie into your weight loss being a cold case? Well these same people who are demanding a resolution to this case immediately are saying that it’s now a cold case since it hasn’t been solved in two weeks. And again, these are not the family members or anyone at all connected to this case or local community in Moscow Idaho.

What this has to do with weight loss is one of the common problems shared by my Inner Self Diet weight loss coaching clients over the years, ever since I began professionally coaching in 2009. What’s the problem? Impatience.

How will you ever lose weight if you give in to your impatience while expecting immediate results? The fact is, weight loss can only occur over time and it will only result from consistent action meal and meal after meal after meal.
