Without a strong WHY there’s really no reason at all to get in gear and get that weight off.
Heck, without a strong weight loss why it’s just plain easier to keep on eating, and eating, and eating even more! And when I say “keep on eating” I don’t mean eating healthy food with portion control. I mean binge eating, emotional eating, compulsive overeating, and continuing to choose those highly processed, fake foods that won’t allow your body to easily (or maybe ever) release the fat.
Of course, I sure hope you want to maintain your goal weight also! Otherwise every time you yo-yo back you run the risk of completely giving up on yourself because after so many multiple times of yo-yo dieting, it just becomes far too frustrating for the majority to keep going.
The folks who give up on their weight loss dream say that they don’t have any motivation to lose weight but it’s not about motivation, it’s about their focus on all of their failures and a lack of a weight loss WHY.
Find Your Weight Loss WHY
Have you ever heard that it doesn’t work to lose weight for someone else? It’s true, it doesn’t work! You have to want to lose weight more than anything for yourself, and that right there is a very big problem for many of the millions of strugglers out there in the world.
Many are making the big mistake of trying to lose weight for someone else, or for some outside reason that means nothing to them. They are trying to Should Themselves to their goal weight, and you know what happens? Not a whole lot if we’re talking about actual weight loss results.
You must find your weight loss WHY that motivates YOU to do whatever it takes to get in gear and get started with your weight loss. But wait! We’re not done yet! Your weight loss WHY must be strong enough that you keep on going, and keep on going, and keep on going… to get all the way to your goal weight, and then maintain it after that. Like I wrote above, I sure hope you want to keep that weight off because gaining it all back again just might send you over the edge into GivingUpVille and if you move to that section of town then you’ll have a very easy time continuing the cycle of overeating.
Find your WHY and write it down, pen on paper, every day, morning noon and night. Write it as soon as you get out of bed, write it at lunch time and write it again before bed. Focus on your WHY daily in order to get motivated and stay motivated.
