Daily Weight Loss Motivation Day Six | JoLynn BraleyWhen you’re trying to find weight loss motivation to get started with your weight and keep on going, one thing you may be avoiding is reviewing your weight loss results. Reviewing your results with your weight loss is easy when you’re making real progress but when you don’t have any motivation to get moving, it’s easier to avoid looking honestly at your results.

To continue reviewing your weight loss results requires courage and self-honesty and you must review your results you’re getting with your weight loss with a clear mind in order to understand where you’re going wrong, as well as where you’re going right.

You see, without a clear review of your results, then how do you know if anything is even changing?

However that right there is a big problem: when you’re not only struggling to get motivated to lose weight, but you’re also struggling to stop binge eating, stop emotional eating, stop yo-yo weight loss with weight regains and stop sabotaging yourself, then with all of these challenges weighing you down, you don’t want to review your results because your results are negative.

The problem though, is that you won’t be able to get motivated to lose weight if you’re not willing to look at what you’re creating right now. If you don’t review your results.

How do you review your results? Well, it’s pretty simple actually. You just need to be very honest with yourself when asking the questions:

  • Over the past six months, what exactly has changed with my eating habits?
  • Over the past six months, what exactly has changed with my weight?
  • Over the past six months have I been feeling better and better about myself? Or am I feeling worse and worse?

“But these questions are too depressing JoLynn! This is why I’m not motivated to lose weight!”. Exactly! These questions will feel depressing if you don’t have positive, healthy, real results of progress to show to yourself. But have you noticed that the longer you avoid reviewing your weight loss results that the longer you feel depressed and unmotivated to lose weight?

Your weight loss motivation will not change by ignoring it, just like your weight loss results will not change by ignoring them. If you do something completely different however, then you can begin to create real change for yourself.

If you take an honest look at your weight loss results and then ask yourself “How much longer am I willing to continue to live with these results?” then you just might find some motivation to lose weight. When you are faced with another 20 years ahead of you, still struggling with your eating and your weight, then this just might motivate you to get moving now.

But if you ignore your current weight loss results and continue to ignore them going forward, then it will be easier to stay where you are. It will be easier to continue overeating while making poor food choices that keep you from the weight you want to be.

Don’t be afraid of taking a good, hard, honest look at yourself while reviewing your weight loss results. Remember that YOU are the only one who can take action to change your weight. The most important weight loss action you will ever take is the action to change your mind.

Without changing your mind you’ll be hard pressed to find the weight loss motivation you seek. There are many things you’ll need to change in your mind in order to get motivated to lose weight and one of the things to change will be how you think about your weight loss results. If you feel shame and hate towards your current weight then you’ll turn to more binge eating, emotional eating, and food obsession to avoid reviewing your weight loss results. If you take this path though, then how will your results ever change?
