3 Things Tonight’s Superbowl Can Teach You about Successful Weight Lossfootball and successful weight loss

Disclaimer: I’m not a football pro, I rarely even watch it. 🙂 With that being said, I watched the entire Super Bowl tonight, the Kansas City Chiefs got whooped by the Philadelphia Eagles. I was really hoping the Chiefs would rally back in the second half to put me on the edge of my seat but it didn’t happen.

While most probably would never see any correlation between the Super Bowl and successful weight loss, I want to share 3 things with you that tonight’s Superbowl can teach you about successful weight loss, believe it or not. Read on for the deets!

3 Things Tonight’s Superbowl Can Teach You about Successful Weight Loss

Let’s take a look at the 3 things tonight’s Superbowl can teach you if you want to finally succeed with your weight.

1.) You Have to Really Want It.

It’s easy to say you want to lose weight, it’s another thing to achieve successful weight loss and in order to reach your weight loss goals, you have to really want it.

It was clear to me tonight while watching the Super Bowl that the Eagles really really wanted it. They wanted that win, they went for it, and they got it. I also had the feeling that the Chiefs might have gotten too relaxed in their history of winning, and unfortunately, this cost them the game.

You CAN achieve your weight loss dreams, you really can, if of course you are living a healthy lifestyle (short term diets don’t work in the long run) and always remember to address your mindset daily. Mindset is 92.8% of successful weight loss, which leads us to number two….

2.) Gain the Right Mindset to achieve Successful Weight Loss

I could see that the Chiefs lost their mindset to focus and win after the Eagles scored so many touchdowns early on. Football is mainly about mindset too! In fact all of the pro athletes who excel in their sport whether that’s golf, skiing, football, or any other sport…. they conquer their mindset in order to win.

Without the right mindset it’s impossible to win, which also applies to winning with your weight. If you stay focused on the results you want rather than focusing on instant gratification at the McDonald’s drive through, you really can lose weight. But if you believe weight loss is too hard, you can’t do it, and only others can lose weight, then you will prove yourself to be right, and guess what your results will be?

It’s difficult to get stuck in a rut, behind the eight ball, expecting failure, and then reaching for food to feel better. But you’ve gotta make the turn into the healthy lane, and the easiest way to do so is by getting into the right mindset first.

This is what I help my weight loss coaching clients do in The Inner Self Diet. Changing your mind to change your body can’t fail you because the mind leads the body, but you need proven steps that work to make the lane change into the winning lane of successful weight loss.

3.) Never Relax On Your Wins On the Way to Your Goal Weight

When you’re starting to have some success on your weight loss journey, that initial success can actually be a sand trap that can suck you right back to the beginning if you don’t say on top of your game. For example, let’s say you need to lose a total of 40 pounds to reach your weight loss goal.

Once you’ve lost 20 pounds you’re halfway there and you’re starting to get compliments, you’re feeling better, and looking better than you did at 40 pounds overweight. But you still have 20 pounds to go.

How Many Fall Off Track….

What many do at this point is they start to relax on their wins they achieved by losing that initial 20 pounds, in this example I’m sharing with you. But what do you do when you start to relax?

Since I’ve had these challenges before too (I believe this makes me a much much better coach for my clients, since I understand what it’s like!), I know that it’s easy to start eating a little here, and a little more there, choosing unhealthy options rather than sticking with the clean eating that gave you the success of the initial 20 pound weight loss.

Next, you can easily find yourself regaining weight before you’ve even reached your goal weight! Well, while I was watching the Superbowl tonight, I had the feeling that the Chiefs might have relaxed because they were so used to winning, they expected another win because they’d always (or almost always) won. The problem was the Eagles came in with more hunger, more determination, and no relaxation.

You see, you can’t ‘relax’ on your weight loss journey and expect to reach your weight loss goals. Keep in mind how and why you became overweight in the first place. Going backwards into the same eating habits, will yield the same results of overweight.

There IS another way to go about weight loss though…

The Struggle-free Way to Your Goal Weight

What I said above “you can’t ‘relax’ on your weight loss journey” that might make weight loss sound stressful, but here’s the thing: if you go within, take the inner journey to healing your eating, and you get a weight loss mindset, then what happens is you naturally choose the healthy options and you naturally progress along your weight loss journey in the struggle-free lane. This is the place my coaching clients get to in eight weeks or less by following my proven steps I mentor them through.

Struggle-free weight loss is a completely different zone to get into, most have never experienced it before, but it’s not found through a food diet, it’s found by transforming your mindset. If you change your mind you can change your body with ease.

Take The First Step

These are the 3 things I saw in the Superbowl that directly relate to successful weight loss. I could be wrong about why the Chiefs lost but my list still stands: you need to really want to lose weight in order to achieve it, mindset is the biggest component to weight loss success, and you’ve gotta guard yourself against relaxing into a backwards slide once you’ve achieved initial success along your weight loss journey.

If you’d love to achieve lasting success with your weight, if it makes sense that you need to do something different to get different results, and if it resonates with you that mindset is key, then I invite you to take the first step towards losing weight for good, if you are serious about ending the struggle.
