To complete this week’s series on what motivates me in regards to the Six Week Body Makeover plan, it’s the fact that I get to eat more and exercise less.

Have you ever watched The Biggest Loser? You probably have if you’re interested in weight loss. I really like that show. For the most part, I find it to be very positive, and certainly motivating.

What I don’t like is how the contestants are just run into the ground with those workouts. Yes, I realize it makes good TV, and they do lose weight very quickly, but it is not necessary to spend that much time working out in order to lose weight quickly!

You’ve heard of working smarter, not harder? Well, if you exercise smarter, you don’t have to put as much time into your workouts. Someone who knows about exercising smarter is Michael Thurmond, the creator of the 6WBMO. He is a personal trainer and has been body building for over 30 years; you might have seen him on the ABC show Extreme Makeover in the past.

He knows what he is doing, and if you follow his instructions in your Six Week Body Makeover kit, you will be working out less and having more time for the rest of your life. I really don’t think that the majority of people have 2 hours or more per day to spend working out, it’s just not realistic, but even more so, not necessary!

The other part of the plan that is extremely motivating is the fact that you eat more. This is not a diet, in fact, dieting and restriction is the worst thing you can do for your metabolism. You need to eat to lose weight, eat often, and (highly important), eat the right kinds of food that will get the weight off. Whole healthy foods, lean proteins, veggies, fruits, and you must eat carbs (rice, potatoes, oatmeal for example). Of course, the food tastes great, and it’s very important that you only eat foods that you like (I don’t like brussel sprouts, I eat broccoli instead).

I don’t know about you, but the fact that you get to eat a good amount of food (you’re not overeating or stuffing yourself) and eat often (every 2.5 to 3 hours) is highly motivating. Of course, on top of that, you see the pounds just roll off of you, and you’re not spending most of your free time working out. 😉
