If you had to pick the main thing that is holding you back from reaching your weight loss and fitness goals, what would that be? For example, do you know exactly how to eat and exercise to lose weight in a healthy manner, but you don’t seem to be able to stay motivated?
Or perhaps you’re someone who is successful in all other areas of your life, but you’re just not sure what kind of food to eat to maximize your fat loss. Or you could be someone that sabotages your own best efforts to lose weight and you don’t understand why you do that.
No matter what it is, I’m interested to know what is holding you back from achieving weight loss success. Sure, there could be more than one reason but what’s that main, glaring roadblock? For me, motivation is an ongoing effort, but that might not be the case for you.
I put together a quick survey where you can select your weight loss roadblock. You see, I believe that diet and exercise alone don’t provide a lasting solution, because if that were the case, there wouldn’t be so many repeat dieters in the world. But my weight loss roadblocks might not be the same as yours, and I want to be sure that I am providing you with enough of the information that you need to succeed.

That’s a great survey. Mine are definitely the food addictions combined with treating myself good on the weekends. I am crazy for chocolate.

Thanks for your comments! I know what you mean about the chocolate, it has so much sugar in it, I used to eat it every day. I’d buy bags from CVS or even the large bags from Costco and always have it on hand. I don’t have any in the house now, and I don’t even miss it.
I have had a Jocalat Larabar when I had a chocolate craving – Larabars don’t contain any refined sugar, however the fruit ones are quite sweet and you’d need to be careful and monitor yourself to see if they cause sugar cravings in you. Keeping a detailed food journal can help you keep track of that. 😉
I put self sabotage as my biggest issue but really it’s a fear of success. I think I stay fat to protect myself from emotional attachment since everyone I’ve been involved with dies (sounds weird-I know-but the last 3 men I’ve had serious relationships have died and after each one I gained more and more weight!) I’ve had years of therapy to deal with this to no avail–I was hoping to find something here at this site that might help me cope. Protecting myself from the emotional nightmare of losing a loved one but also in some weird way trying to save someone else from dying if they get involved with me!!!!

I can 100% relate to the fear of success. I haven’t gone through 3 deaths like you have but I can relate to the fear.
Something you could check out is my series on emotional eating. I’ve been doing a 12-week program to heal my emotional eating and I really recommend it, however you’ve got to really want to let the emotional eating go.
That’s the #1 thing I can say, is that you’ve got to be ready….I’m not at all making light of what you’ve gone through, but until you’re ready nothing will really work – I’ve been there myself before so I know. 😉
