She Thought Her Husband Was The Problem | Free Weight Loss PodcastHave you ever blamed other people, maybe even your husband, for your overeating and overweight? Well she thought her husband was the problem, but was he?

Listen in now to episode #319 of The JoLynn Braley Show for an AHA moment!

She Thought Her Husband Was The Problem

Many overweight or obese binge eaters, emotional eaters, and yo-yo dieters blame other people for their overweight and overeating.

They commonly blame:

  • Their mother, because she was overweight
  • Their father, because he criticized their overweight
  • Their husband, because he’s thin and eats junk food at home all the time
  • Their kids, because they always want pizza and no one says no to them
  • Their siblings, because they never had an overweight problem
  • Their boss, because their boss wants them to get their work done and the emotional eater eats even more due to their self-induced stress about their work
  • Their neighbor, because their neighbor plays loud music and the binge eater eats to avoid confrontation with their neighbor, to ask them to turn the music down
  • Their dog, because their dog is addicted to McDonald’s french fries and they cannot tell their dog “no” and use their McDonald’s runs as an excuse to order double meals to binge on
  • They also blame the grocery stores, the fast food industry, the government, and anyone or anything else outside of themselves in order to avoid taking personal responsibility for their choices, behaviors, and actions.

If you recognize yourself in any parts of this list then here’s the good news: all change is preceded by awareness. In other words, you cannot change anything when you are not aware of it!

Once you are aware that you’ve been blaming others or anything outside of you, then you can choose to make a new decision: to take full personal responsibility for your choices, decisions, behaviors and results.

Next, when you decide to take full personal responsibility for yourself and your results, then you will have the power to change. You cannot change when you are blaming others for your results. Only when you take full personal responsibility for your results will you step into your power and be able to begin changing your eating and your weight.
