Daily Weight Loss Motivation Day Four | JoLynn BraleyWhat does it mean to make peace with your lack of motivation to lose weight?

When you don’t have any motivation to lose weight then hating yourself for being lazy and having no motivation is not going to help you lose weight. Quite the opposite! This will only make things worse, which we’ll get into below. If instead you make peace with your lack of motivation to lose weight then you can inch a little closer to feeling inspired to get in action!

Make peace with where you are, make peace with your lack of motivation to lose weight, and you can actually begin feeling more hopeful about losing that weight for good.

Daily Weight Loss Motivation: Make Peace with Your Lack of Motivation [Day Four]

One of the hardest things to do is to make peace with where you are when you’d rather be someplace else and in this case, the someplace you’d rather be is in the world of thin, fit, and fabulous!

But you’re not thin. You wouldn’t be reading these words if you were. If you were already where you want to be, thin, fit, and fabulous, then you would be out and about living your life, without any need for a month-long series on weight loss motivation.

You’re either overweight or obese and you’re struggling to find the weight loss motivation you desperately need in order to get moving and get that weight off. And hey, you’re not alone, millions are in the same camp with you right now!

But one of the worst things you can do to try to find weight loss motivation is to beat yourself up for your weight as it stands right now. Here’s why:

How do you feel about yourself when you beat yourself up and, put yourself down, and call yourself names because you’re overweight or obese?

You don’t feel good, that’s for sure! You end up feeling really crappy about yourself, yes?

And then, what do you do when you feel crappy about yourself? You eat, don’t you. You eat because this is the only way of coping that you have (currently) and eating is the only way you have to try to make yourself feel better.

Of course emotional eating, binge eating, mindless eating and compulsive overeating do not help you get to your goal weight. But then you beat yourself up some more for overeating and making the poor food choices that you do, but then what happens?

You eat some more. And this cycle continues the more you beat yourself up because the worse you end up feeling, the less motivated you feel, and the more you eat.

This will go on forever if you allow it to.

Make Peace With Where You Are

If you choose to make peace with where you are you can begin to start feeling just a little bit better about yourself, and when you feel just a little bit better about yourself, it will be easier to begin feeling some hope and then… feeling some motivation to lose weight. The key though, is to Get OK with where you are.

Note that I am NOT suggesting that you stay overweight and just “be ok” with it. There is nothing at all wrong with wanting to look your best, and you do not need to apologize for this or explain it to anyone! What I am saying is the better you can feel about where you are, the more motivated you can begin to feel to lose weight.

And this is what you want: weight loss motivation, correct?

Stay Consistent to Make Peace and Get Motivated to Lose Weight

Making peace with where you are now so that you can feel more hopeful about weight loss and get motivated to lose weight is not easy for most to do and without help, many are not able to do this.

What most are trying to do is force themselves to lose weight so that they can then feel better. But willpower cannot fight the current of Universal Laws, one being that the inner and the outer always match.

If you are doubtful, unhappy, and disappointed in yourself in the inside, your weight (the outside) is going to match your inner world because your eating behaviors will match your self-doubt, unhappiness, and disappointment with yourself.

In my work with my weight loss coaching clients I have a complete step-by-step proven system I walk them through so that they get unstuck, get motivated to lose weight, and start losing weight in real life instead of only hoping for it. The thing is though, is that you’re never going to get to a place where you never feel negative emotion ever again. Instead, true freedom is when you feel bad and you DON’T eat food to try to numb out, avoid your negative emotion, or try to make yourself feel better.

These results do not magically appear overnight and you need to take consistent action with small steps to start with. You need consistent action to make peace with where you are, to get motivated to lose weight, and to finally get that weight off and keep it off.
